5 (okay?) reasons things have been quiet on the blog

This is the new dining room...in progress. Naturally, I picked a very similar shade to the old dining room, lol!
Reason #1: We moved.
This might come as a shock (probably not) but moving is a ton of stinkin' work. Between keeping three dogs, a baby, and a husband alive- plus unpack, paint, maintain jobs, and maybe a shred of sanity....we are exhausted. To give you a good picture of what this exhaustion looks like: We were having a "going over the new budget" talk last night and I may have suggested to Josh that he should stand up for the conversation so he could be awake the whole time. That kind of exhaustion. We keep reminding ourselves that it is at least for good things, but being tired gets really old...really fast. I'm sure you know what I am talking about.
Reason #2: We do not have internet at home. We (I) had this brilliant idea that completely unplugging at the new house would be an excellent way to stay centered on what's important in life. To be honest, it has been great for a lot of reasons. Not watching TV or using the internet frees up a lot of distraction. On the flip side, it makes certain things more difficult for us: paying online bills, finding recipes, coupons, BLOGGING. So, alas, we have decided to hook up internet to the new house and join the world wide web once again. "Unplugging" doesn't have to stop...we will just have to do it with boundaries rather than abstinence.
Reason #3: Our child can walk. Yep, we have a walking, exploring, climbing little baby. Asa, the extraordinary ten month old, has taken to walking everywhere. While he is certainly mastering this skill quickly, there are many (constant) falls which desperately needs constant supervision. I'm not mad about....I mean, I'm his mom, what else would I do? But it still takes a LOT of your time! Got to keep that baby safe!
Reason #4: I'm overwhelmed with life. Sometimes I am surprised at what overwhelms me. In theory, it should be the unexpected things that happen like a car breaking down or unexpected company, but to be honest, those things are actually pretty easy for me to handle. I just go into "let's do this" mode and we move forward. It seems like the planned and anticipated parts of life are the things that overwhelm me. Doesn't that seem a bit odd? I guess the fact that I can over think about those things might come into play. Who knows. Just remind next time I get the itch to move that I really do not want to do that again, okay?! :)
Reason #5: I'm not sure where to start. When it comes to catching up here on the blog, I'm not sure where to start. I have a TON to write about...more than I probably will/can but somehow I still am not sure where to start. So I started with this post. I don't have a grand plan, but at least talking about it might help. It usually does.
Luckily, there are a few things in the works that I am very excited for within the next few weeks. Don't you feel a bit better when you remind yourself about those things? Here's what I'm looking forward to: Asa's first birthday (What?!), Blog design revamp being launch with help from Josh, opening of our Etsy shop, and getting my hair trimmed. I mean, those things are going to be GREAT! Are you with me? Here goes nothing....
